Thinking about jawline sculpting? It’s not enough to know how to prepare, understanding what you’ll experience after your treatment is vital.

General experience after jawline sculpting

  • Discomfort: Most people experience temporary swelling, redness and tenderness. Bruising may occur from time to time. There are a number of options to manage post-treatment discomfort including over-the-counter pain relief, and cold packs.
  • Downtime: Fillers and jawline slimming injections have no downtime. If you have lifting threads, you’ll likely want a few days off to recover.
  • Recovery: It is crucial to follow the aftercare instructions to ensure optimal healing and reduce risks. Depending on the treatment, this might involve avoiding strenuous activity and other activities.

Specific modality considerations

Jawline fillers

  • Swelling and tenderness is mild subside within a few days.
  • Avoid massaging or touching the treated area for 7 days.
  • Certain facial expressions might feel slightly different due to the filler presence. This sensation fades over the first few days.

  • Results appear gradually, reaching their peak effect within 4-6 weeks.
  • Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours.

  • Swelling and bruising might be more pronounced due to the insertion process, and can take 5-7 days to settle.
  • The initial result may appear over-corrected, so allow 2-4 weeks for the threads to settle.

  • Monitor the insertion points for signs of infection or discomfort.

It’s important to appreciate that every individual heals differently. Prioritise rest and recovery, and always reach out to your practitioner if you have concerns about the healing process, or if you’re worried about a side effect.
