Non-surgical rhinoplasty is also known as ‘nose reshaping’, ‘nose fillers’, ‘non-surgical nose job’, and ‘liquid nose job’.

Want to change the appearance of your nose but don’t want to commit to invasive, risky and expensive surgery, especially when there are no guarantees you’ll like the result?

With the evolution of non-surgical cosmetic treatments, reshaping your nose is now possible without surgery.

While there are a number of non-surgical treatments for nose reshaping, not all are equal.

Let’s review your options, so that you can make an informed decision about non-surgical nose reshaping.

1. Non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers

This treatment is the gold-standard way to reshape your nose non-surgically. It involves injections of dermal fillers to areas along your nose to change the shape. Dermal fillers are a gel used to add support to the soft tissues of your nose, and work by ‘filling-in’ indentations and hollow areas. With careful planning they can also smooth bumps and add projection to your nose tip.

2. Nose botox injections

This treatment reduces the fine movements of your nose by relaxing the muscles. Results are very subtle, and therefore this is not a good option for most people looking to change the shape of their nose. It will not change the resting appearance of your nose in any way.

3. Nose threads

Nose threads originated in Asia, and were designed to build structure along the nose bridge. They are expensive, painful, temporary, and not-reversible. They are often marketed for their safety but come with an abundance of complications, and often yield very variable results that lack sharpness and definition.

The only case where nose threads are indicated are those who need substantial structure along their nose bridge. They are not indicated to lift the nose tip or smooth dorsal humps and bumps.

4. Nose plasma fibroblast

This treatment involves burning the skin of your nose with promises of a slimming effect. It does not work. This is because the nasal structure is dictated by the cartilage and bone, and not the skin. Burning the skin does nothing to change the shape of your nose, and any photos demonstrating results are often taken from different angles and with different lighting to make it look like there was a change.

5. Nose laser slimming

Laser nose reshaping works by targeting the skin with the promise of slimming your nose. Despite what some claim, lasers do not change the structure of the bone or cartilage, and so cannot slim or reshape your nose.

Which non-surgical nose reshaping treatment to choose?

Based on the options available, the non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers is considered the gold standard technique to reshape your nose. But you must consider your specific concerns and goals, and your preferences when making a treatment decision. Always start with a consultation with an experienced doctor who can formally assess your nose, and help you decide on the best treatment for you.
