Hi, I’m Shawn Xia, an Aesthetic Nurse with a Master of Nursing and eight years in critical care, three of them spent training other clinical staff as a nurse educator. These days I bring that same instinct for careful, evidence-based practice into facial aesthetics.
I completed my Bachelor of Nursing in 2017 and my Master of Nursing in 2024, and over the past year I’ve applied that clinical foundation to cosmetic medicine. Coming from an ICU background means I don’t take shortcuts: I want to fully understand a treatment before I offer it to a patient. My approach is grounded in a simple belief, less is more. The goal isn’t to change how someone looks, it’s to refine the features they already have, with a balance that looks refreshed rather than obvious.
A first consultation with me starts with listening. I ask what brought you in, reflect your concerns back so we’re genuinely on the same page, then assess your facial structure and talk through realistic options, including what a treatment can’t achieve. I’d rather under-promise and over-deliver than promise an outcome I can’t guarantee. What keeps me doing this work is watching that shift happen in someone: people who come back after their treatment and tell me how much better they feel.
I was born in China, completed my secondary schooling in Singapore, and have called Australia home for the past fifteen years. This background gives me a real feel for Asian beauty ideals and how to work with, rather than against, natural facial proportions. When I’m not in clinic, I’m usually planning the next trip; travel is how I keep learning about different cultures and ways of life. If you come to see me, my aim is simple: that you leave feeling safe, a little excited about the change ahead, and genuinely well-informed. I’d love to help you get there.
